Meet Our Pastor
Brian Butler Jr. serves as the pastor of Plants and Pillars Church in Querétaro, Mexico. Originally from the United States, Brian spent time on the mission field in Panama before serving on the pastoral staff of his home church in Mississippi for over five years.
In 2022, Brian founded Plants and Pillars Project, a U.S.-based missions organization committed to planting churches and schools throughout Latin America. This calling led Brian and his family to move to Querétaro in April 2023 as pioneer missionaries. Brian established Plants and Pillars Church in November 2024 as the first church planted through the ministry.
Brian's ministry is centered on expository preaching, practical application, and faithful discipleship. He is passionate about shepherding individuals and families, raising up faithful leaders, and building churches that are rooted in Christ, shaped by Scripture, and built to endure.
Brian is happily married to Natalia and is a father. He considers pastoral ministry not merely a position, but a calling to shepherd God's people with humility, clarity and love.
We Are Protestant
In the early 16th century, a monk by the name of Martin Luther sparked what is known as the "Protestant Reformation". This reformation was a shift away from the authority of the Roman Catholic Church and towards the authority of Scripture.
As Protestants, we believe that God’s Word as expressed in the Holy Scripture is the only sufficient, certain, and infallible standard of all saving knowledge, faith and obedience.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Who We Are
We Are Confessional
Plants and Pillars Church is a confessional church, meaning that we seek to corporately confess the truths that unite us in doctrinal conviction. A confession of faith is a summary of what a church believes the Bible teaches. It helps us clearly express what we believe about everything from the authority of Scripture to the final judgment.
We hold to the historic Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689) and the New Hampshire Confession of Faith (1853) as faithful summaries of our biblical convictions.
At the same time, our confession is not our final authority. It is a reflection of what we believe Scripture teaches. Scripture alone is our supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice. Our confessions serve the church by helping us articulate, preserve, and corporately affirm what we believe the Word of God teaches.

We Are Evangelical
By evangelical, we confess that the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation, and the Church’s calling is to proclaim it with love and doctrinal integrity. We believe this calling extends beyond the walls of the local church, compelling us to faithfully proclaim the Gospel to our city, our state, our nation, and the world.
As a church, we seek to live out this calling through regular local, national, and international evangelism. We participate in outreach, build relationships within our community, partner with others in Gospel ministry, and support mission work beyond our borders—all with the desire to see people reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ.

We Are Organized
Plants and Pillars Church is a covenantal church, united together through a shared commitment to Christ, to His Word, and to one another. Church membership is more than simply attending a worship service; it is a devotional commitment to walk together as the body of Christ, encouraging one another, bearing one another’s burdens, pursuing holiness, and faithfully carrying out the mission God has given His Church. Plants and Pillars Church is also an organized church, seeking to order our life and ministry according to the principles and patterns given to us in Scripture. We believe that Christ has given His Church a clear structure, responsibilities, and leadership for the good and flourishing of His people. Our Constitution provides the framework by which we seek to govern, serve, and conduct the ministry of the church in a way that is faithful to Scripture and clear to our members. What began as a vision to send missionaries and plant a church has become a living, growing community of believers.
